welcome to medium, where words matter
I recently got a subscription for Medium. Part blog host, part social journalism platform, Medium “taps into the brains of the most insightful writers, thinkers, and storytellers to bring [readers] the smartest takes on topics that matter.” Fully customizable to your own interests, it aggregates articles from across the site into a home page with what you want to read and articles you might be interested in based on previous reads. Needless to say, I’m kind of obsessed.
You can follow dozens of interests in topics like Art and Entertainment, Industry, Life, Society. I’m following art, books, true crime, productivity, science, creativity, health, mental health, sexuality, psychology, education, language, history, and women. You can also follow specific writers or publications, which I haven’t gotten into yet. But I’m deep into this site. My reading list includes:
- A Few Principles for Thinking Clearly
- Cognitive Bias Cheat Sheet
- There Are Two Ways to Read – One is Pointless
- Emotional Renovations
- How Shared Hatred Helps You Make Friends
- You’re Hardwired to Love Social Media
I’m going to write more about a few of these articles, so stay tuned.
